MWC has ended and here are the newest smartphones of this year

MWC 2014 has ended and it showed the world what the newest smartphones of the year will be. Every major smartphone manufacturer was there to reveal their newest smartphones. Well, almost every manufacturer, Apple never attends MWC because the company holds a separate event to promote their own products. From Nokia to Samsung and in between, attending MWC is like being a kid in a candy store. You get to play with all the newest smartphones before they even come out and see which one is better. This year we are havin some special releases, like Nokia unveiling their first Android based smartphone, the Galaxy S5 and many other highly anticipated devices.

So, if you waited a lot for this convention to find out what will be the next best smartphone of the year or to see the next flagship model of your favorite brand then please feel free to dig in. Below I’ve compiled a list of the hottest newest smartphones that were shown at MWC 2014 and I’ve included a little something about each. Enjoy!

The newest smartphones of 2014

Galaxy S5, the most anticipated device in this newest smartphones list

One of the most anticipated newest smartphones of 2014

If you were hyped about the Galaxy S5 this year then I’m afraid you’re in for a big disappointment. Samsung flunked this time. Almost everybody commented on its “girly” design and even though it’s better than the S4 in every aspect, it didn’t have the spark to make it the most desirable phone of the year.

Nokia X, X+ and XL

The newest smartphones from Nokia this year

These are the most “shocking” newest smartphones of the new year. Nokia actually launched three devices with an Android OS. With Microsoft’s approval (the huge software company will soon take control over the mobile division of the Finnish corporation) Nokia released the Nokia X,X+ and XL that run on a highly modified version of Android, v4.1 Jellybean to be more exact. The devices will come with their own app store and can extend the Lumia experience to another level.

Sony Xperia Z2

One of the most anticipated newest smartphones of 2014 besides the Galaxy S5

Sony’s appeal to the public has started to grow recently. More and more people bought the Z1 and now they wanted to see the next flagship model from the Japanese company. It’s probably the second most anticipated device in this new smartphones list. And with a growing crowd Sony couldn’t afford to not impress the masses. The Xperia Z2 has a 20.7 MP camera, 5.2-inch screen with Bravia technology and its water resistent, just like the previous model. With Samsungs huge fall at MWC this year, Sony might have a fighting chance to reach the top of the smartphone market.

HTC Desire 816

Newest smartphones

Amongst the other newest smartphones, HTC revealed their new “flagship mid-range” device for this year. The Desire 816 is capable of full 1080p recording and has built-in amplifiers as standard. Even though you where expecting some news about the M8 (the HTC One’s successor) you will have to wait untill the 25th of March for that. All we got from HTC at MWC is a decent mid-range smartphone that has some pretty impressive specs.

Round up

This is it, the biggest, hottest, newest smartphones that were at MWC this year. I know that some aren’t what they were hyped up to be and some weren’t even there, but it is what it is. It will be very interesting to see how they will do in the market when they will be officially released, I’m sure that Samsung’s in for a huge surprise. So, what do you think? What’s your favourite between all these newest smartphones?
